This month's Artistic Trade Card (ATC) theme
for our exchange was "Bell Peppers".
For my 10 ATCs, I made the following design. I hand drew a bell pepper with a pencil and then used watercolor pencils and water to color them in.

I also made this version, but decided I liked the above one instead. For this one, I glued the definition of a bell pepper to the background first and then drew my pepper over that and then painted.

And here is what all the other VERY TALENTED ladies made...

And here they all are together tucked away nicely in my ATC notebook to take home. I LOVE these!!! Who knew such a simple theme could come out so great!
And here are some more bell pepper themed ATCs that Bonnie brought in to show all of us...
And our background technique for tonight was brought to you by Bonnie. First you randomly scrape modeling paste on your page to create texture and then you paint on and around it with acrylic paint. Then, you can add stenciled ink, doodles and details.
Here is how mine came out...

You can not really see the layers and texture in these pictures, but it is pretty cool in person.
Next month's theme is "hearts". Hmmmm? What to do...
