Art Uncorked!

Well tonight I went with some friends to an Art Uncorked event.  It is a new company in town.  They offer acrylic paint on canvas classes at various coffee shops and restaurants around town.  Hence the title...Art Uncorked...wine(uncorked), food, art and fun with friends.  Basically, everyone in the class creates the same piece of art step by step with direction by a teacher.  It is open to anyone whether you have any experience or none.

Here are my dear friends Lori and Patty.  The teacher is in the background.
We are just getting started.

Here is mine so far...

We are about half way done now... hoy...this is not my forte

Here is Patty.  She is super focused.  ...and she says she is not an artist!  She did awesome!

And here is my final.  I still need to do some detail work when I get home.  Not crazy about mine, but it was really a fun activity with friends.

Here is the whole gang.  Hmmmm, all our paintings seem to look quite similar?  LOL.

May Doodle Girls

Another FUN day with my doodle girls!  Today we worked on creating canvas pieces.

Here is my sweet friend, Cynthia.  She painted this ADORABLE cat over her collaged background.

And here is my peek a boo friend, Kat.  She was being shy with the camera today.  A wonderful under the sea scene.  Hers is not quite finished yet.

I made this collage background on my canvas...
and these backgrounds in my art journal...
These are all works in progress...stay tuned.

And I had to share these new pages from Kat's Art Journal.  Oh My Gosh...I LOVE these so much!

All I can say is WOW!!  To see more of Kat's work you can go to her blog here.

Sticker Glitter Fun

Kat and I got together today to try out some of our new supplies from the Scrapbook Expo.  We used this extra fine glitter and poured it onto our sticky sheets to make glitter sheets.  Then, we placed our new outline stickers on the glitter sheets and colored them in with our copic markers.  The glitter is so fine that you can color over it with your copic markers without ruining them.

Here are Kat's finished cards...

Scrapbook Expo in Del Mar

Kat and I went to the Scrapbook Expo in Del Mar today.  It was my first time and a lot of fun!

We went to visit Elena at Charity Wings booth.   Isn't she so cute in her wings?!!  :-)

Kat and I did a make-n-take at the Stamping Fools booth.  They were demo-ing how to make these wonderful glitter sheets made by spreading extra micro fine glitter onto double stick sheets.  The Glitter is so fine you can use your copic markers to color on it without ruining your marker tips.  And they sell these special black outline stickers like this fish and bird below to place on the glitter sheet and be colored in.  These glittery cards look amazing in person.  So, of course we had to buy some.

These cuties were also at the Stampin Fools booth.  They are made with various punches.  Very cute!

Here are some other cool samples I took photos of while there.

Kat and I had a blast.  And spent WAY too much money!!!  But, came home with a bunch of really cool stuff.  :-)
